: Creating miniature houses naturally encourages children to describe activities (“I’m gluing the table”, “I’m building the bed”) and to subsequently tell stories featuring the figure. Parents can ask questions such as: “Where does the little house’s resident live? What are they doing in their room?” – this helps to practise vocabulary, sentence structure and the ability to narrate a coherent story.
