This game involving assembling animals from geometric shapes is ideal for developing vocabulary and thinking skills. Children can describe what they are making (“three triangles make a fish”), and parents can ask: “Which shape is missing? Where is the square?” – this helps practise the names of shapes, prepositions and sentence formation. The combination of maths, imagination and language gives the game great added value.
