DJECO Card game Dogs

Puppies is a fast-paced word game in which players practise putting syllables together. The cards feature pictures of dogs with their names broken down into syllables. The aim is to put the dog’s full name together as quickly as possible to score points. The game is ideal for travelling – simple, easy to follow and featuring cheerful illustrations of our canine friends.

The game is an excellent aid for reading practice – children put syllables together to form whole words, practising pronunciation and speech rhythm. Naming the dogs develops vocabulary and supports sentence structure (“That’s Kevin, he has two syllables”). Parents can help their child by asking questions such as: “How many syllables can you hear?” or “Find a dog with a name that has three syllables”.
