Mini Family is played in the same way as the classic game of Quartets – players collect fairy-tale families made up of witches, ghosts, magicians and other cheerful characters. The aim is to put together a complete family, either by matching the pictures or by asking fellow players questions. The game is simple and suitable even for children who cannot yet read.

The game supports the development of vocabulary and sentence structure – as children collect families, they name the characters (“that’s a witch”, “that’s a ghost”) and learn to ask and answer questions (“Do you have a magician?”). This helps practise dialogue, categorisation and the ability to express themselves in full sentences. Parents can enrich the game with questions such as: “Who else is missing from the family?” or “How would you describe that ghost?” – helping the child to develop both language skills and imagination.
