The story begins a long time ago… A fairy wants to create a forest where every animal friend will have a home. But the witch has other plans – she wants to imprison the animals. The players’ task is to work together to build the forest quickly enough to stop the witch from casting spells and locking the animals in cages. If they manage to build the whole forest, the spell is broken and all the animals are saved!

Cooperative games are excellent for speech development – children have to talk to each other, plan and comment on their moves. They learn to formulate questions, negotiate and summarise. I recommend encouraging descriptive language during the game (“We need a piece of the forest…”, “The witch is approaching…”), which strengthens vocabulary and expression.
