Games featuring animals are among the most popular and, from a speech therapy perspective, the most effective. Through them, children learn to expand their vocabulary, both passively (I understand when I hear the name) and actively (I can name the animal myself). Each animal offers an opportunity not only to name it, but also to further develop speech: “The dog barks, the cat purrs, the rabbit hops.” The speech therapist recommends using the games dynamically – asking the child: “Where is the dog? What colour is it? What is it doing?” This helps to develop speech comprehension, active expression and the ability to combine words into short sentences. Such games are ideal from an early age, as they combine the joy of discovery with the systematic development of communication and vocabulary.
