Fishing is ideal for developing fine motor skills and practising concentration. At the same time, it offers plenty of opportunities to expand vocabulary – the child can name the colours and shapes of the fish, whilst the parent can ask: “Where is the blue fish? What is the cat doing?” Such questions encourage the use of prepositions, comprehension and the formation of short sentences.
