Fishing is great for practising fine motor skills and attention, but also for speech development. Children can name each fish they catch (“red fish”, “blue fish”) and the parent can ask: “Where is the fish swimming? What is the cat doing?” Playing in this way helps build vocabulary, learn prepositions and form simple sentences.
