Language games are ideal for developing vocabulary and recognising differences between sounds and meanings. Children playfully realise that one object can have multiple names (“apple – jablko – Apfel”). I recommend not only letting children repeat the words, but also using them in sentences and comparing them: “How do you say that in Czech? And how about in English?” This helps practise sentence structure and the ability to switch between languages.
